Travel requests

In order to take part in a ride, you must first create a trip request in order to define the time, start and destination point and trip settings for your trip.

Find hits

If the system finds a hit,

  • TwoGo will send a confirmation of the appointment request with the details of the exact departure and arrival time of your ride.
  • TwoGo updates the map with the trip request with the details of the lift. Click on user.quickguide.itinerary.png to display your journey details including pick-up and drop-off points, other passengers, etc.
  • You will receive an SMS if the journey is within the next 24 Hours takes place (and you have registered your phone number and activated TwoGo SMS notifications).
Search for alternatives for trips for which no results were found

If TwoGo does not find a match for your desired journey, you will be given the opportunity to select a suggestion for an alternative journey (if available) if you are ready to accept minor changes to your original journey.

Tasks

Create travel requests

TwoGo offers two different modes for creating driving requests. On the one hand, there is a simplified chat mode that takes you step-by-step through the process, as well as an advanced mode for users who are already more familiar with the process. You can switch back and forth between the two modes by long-pressing the + symbol to create driving requests and selecting Chat or Advanced.

For new users and users who have not yet had any journeys in the system, the simplified mode is automatically set when creating a journey request. Simply follow the prompts on the screen to create your drive preference.

To create a new trip request in advanced mode, proceed as follows:

  • (Optional) Select whether you want to take part in this trip as a driver, passenger, or both would like. This setting overrides the trip settings you made on the Settings for the trip card.
  • Select Create trip and switch to the New trip as card.
  • To specify when and how often you would like a ride, click the drop-down arrow next to Retry and choose one of the following options:
    • For a one-time ride, select Never.
    • For a specific day or days, click on Individual and then select the appropriate days.
    • For regular weekly trips, click on Regular and then select
      • the days on which this trip should take place each week.
      • On which days the repetition should begin and end again.

NOTE: For longer repetition periods (e.g. every 3rd of the month) we recommend setting up the trip request via your calendar.

  • Enter the abbreviations for the desired addresses or locations in the From and To fields and select the exact addresses from the suggestions displayed. TwoGo shows your route on the map
  • (Optional) If you have entered yourself as a driver or driver / passenger, you can adjust your route if you prefer a route other than the one automatically calculated by TwoGo.

ATTENTION: If you later change your role to "Passengers only", any changes you have made to your route will not be taken into account.

  • Set the earliest possible departure time and the latest possible arrival time.
  • (Optional) Specify the type of journey:
    • For a round trip, mark the checkbox As round trip.
    • To report the trip as a business trip, select the Business trip checkbox. NOTE: This option restricts your search so that only trips with colleagues or a specific group within your organization are shown.
  • (Optional) If you have selected the role of driver or driver / passenger, you can only define settings for this specific journey. Click on Show settings for driver to open the Settings for the journey, where you can make settings that only apply to this journey. In addition to settings for this drive, you can also specify which vehicle you want to use here.
    • To select one of your own vehicles, click on the Vehicle drop-down list and make your selection from the vehicles that you have registered with TwoGo.
    • If you have not yet registered a vehicle with TwoGo, you can select Add my vehicle. After you have saved your desired journey, you will be asked to register your vehicle with TwoGo.
    • When you drive a vehicle that you do not normally use, such as a car For example, a rental car, select Temporary Vehicle (Rental Car) and enter basic details about the color and, if possible, the license plate number.
    • If your company has a fleet of pool vehicles that you can use and this feature has been configured in TwoGo, you can select Request Pool Vehicle. Pool vehicles are only available for return journeys and users who have selected driver / passenger as their role. For this reason, when you select the Request pool vehicle option, your settings for the drive will automatically be adjusted accordingly. If you have been assigned a corresponding pool vehicle, the associated details are displayed in your journey request just like a normal vehicle.

NOTE: After you have saved your travel request, it can take a while before a pool vehicle is assigned to you; therefore initially no details about the pool vehicle are displayed. Later, look again on the Settings for the journey card to see which pool vehicle has been assigned to you. Please also note the following: If an administrator uses the pool vehicle e.g. If, for example, it is removed from the system due to a sudden mechanical problem, you will only be informed that your pool vehicle is no longer available if you have configured TwoGo to send appointment requests to your preferred calendar app. If you have only activated SMS notifications, you will not receive any notification. For this reason, it is strongly recommended that you check the Settings for the journey card a few hours before the planned departure time to see whether the pool vehicle is still assigned to you. If the pool vehicle is no longer assigned to you, you have to delete your journey request and create a new one for the journey.

  • Enter the number of free spaces that are available for other users in the vehicle. Please note that the number of seats that are still available in addition to the one you have occupied must be specified in the Free Seats field. For a vehicle with a total of five (5) seats, you would enter four (4) as the number of free seats.
  • Choose Save.

TwoGo adds your new travel request to the overview as a new map. If necessary, use the scroll buttons to navigate chronologically through your trips. In the case of serial travel requests, the travel requests you have set up for the next seven days are displayed in the overview. Furthermore, on the Repeat card, the last card in the overview, you will receive an overview of your series travel requests. If you have not canceled the TwoGo confirmations, TwoGo will send you an appointment request to confirm the journey you have created. The appointment request blocks your calendar from the earliest possible departure time to the latest possible arrival time that you have specified.

Furthermore, on the Repeat card, the last card in the overview, you will receive an overview of your series travel requests.

To adjust the automatic route set by TwoGo, proceed as follows:

  • If you want to deviate from the suggested route at a certain point, move the mouse pointer over the exact position on the New Journey map until a black circle appears and drag it to the desired waypoint. TwoGo places a gray marker on the street closest to this position. If this is not the position you want, you can move the marker freely.
  • Click on Save if it is a new journey request, or on Update if you are editing an existing journey request.

To edit a previously adjusted route, proceed as follows:

  • Select the desired journey in the overview and then click on user.quickguide.editride_green.png.
  • To adjust your route, move the gray markers to the new positions you want, or add new markers if necessary. To remove a marker that is no longer required, select it and then click Remove.
  • Choose Update.

To return to the route suggested by TwoGo, do the following:

  • Select the desired journey in the overview and then click on user.quickguide.editride_green.png.
  • Click on the gray marking on your adjusted route and then on Remove. Repeat for each mark.
  • Choose Update.
